Energy Specifics was commissioned by Wates Property Services to undertake various retrofit upgrade measures under the SHDF Wave 1 funding initiative. Working on 145 residential houses across Herefordshire, we installed the following measures:
- 4,709 m2 of cavity wall insulation extractions
- 4,709 m2 of cavity wall insulation refills (bead)
- 415 m2 of external wall insulation
- 129 m2 of internal wall insulation
- 863 m2 of loft insulation
- 466 lm of DPC injection rods
- 1,076 solar PV panels
- 103 electric storage heaters
- 33 extractor fans
- 44 CCUs
- 545 smoke/heat detectors
Quality control
All our subcontractors go through a series of robust checks to ensure they meet the necessary competence levels. Once approved, our Quality Standards Manager’s remit is to ensure that our subcontractors: Adhere to Health and Safety standards at all times Work in accordance with the RAMS Fully understand the project brief Strive to achieve the optimum result Consistently demonstrate a professional and courteous manner Summary Our post-inspection process revealed some minor defects which were fully remediated prior to the final handover. The project was delivered ahead of schedule and on budget.
Added value
All tenant appointment booking for the PIBI surveys and installs was undertaken by our in-house team, included free of charge to our client as part of our service offering. With previous contracts where tenant appointments were made by the main contractor, this aspect proved problematic as not enough appointments were being booked. Our management team, both in-house and on-site, has the capacity and expertise to respond swiftly as problems may arise. Collectively, they have experience with PAS compliance, construction, commercial, project management and Health and Safety regulation. PAS compliance This project was delivered in association with our sister company, Compliance Specifics, which undertook the retrofit assessments and full PAS-compliance coordination brief, right through to Trustmark submission. When Compliance Specifics and Energy Specifics are commissioned for the same project, we operate streamlined data-sharing, negating the need for the main contractor to have to implement the considerable evidence photo and compliance document upload process. All compliance forms required for PAS retrofit installs are generated digitally using our bespoke system. Completed forms are immediately forwarded to our compliance team directly from the installer’s mobile device.
